Who are you and what are you doing here?

On October 8, 2005 the largest earthquake in the history of Pakistan struck approximately 90 kilometers north of Islamabad. From November 9 to February 26, 2006, your friendly neighborhood Fsowalla, shedding his guise as hard-chargin’ Rashid the Political Officer, worked in Pakistan.  In August 2006, however, it came time to move to the other side of the sub-continent.  To the once capital, now crumbling city of Calcutta (Kolkata), where the transformation to the Kolkata Kid began.   And yet.  It came time to hop to that capital before Das Kapital located in the heart of the British empire.  London. The Big Smoke. And Bob’s yer uncle.  And yet.  Back to the Mothership where sprezzatura was the watchword in the Capital of the Free World. Then rather sossegado no São Paulo.  A jump to The Hill and now, 10,000 miles later, the Big Durian.

  1. check out: Adventures in Good Countries (link to the right). She’s funny and clever, and judging from her musical tastes, fairly hip. Girl in the Rain and the Diplodocus may have some more links to other FSOs too.
